• The Shaker design style was developed in the mid 1800s with emphasis on simplicity and function. They emphasize functional form and proportion rather than ornate millwork and scrollwork.
    They are also included in the Arts & Crafts, Scandinavian and Japanese design movements. Shaker doors are often divided into 3 to 5 panels or lites, but can be divided into more if the door heights permits.
